Engine Assembler/Disassembler Position Sept 2018

Diesel Doctor of TN is a exciting business in the scene of building Diesel engines. If you love working on diesel engines, this is a unique opportunity for the right person to get into this fast growing company on the ground floor.

Summary: Assemble and/or install a variety of large and heavy parts to complete units or sub-assemblies. Perform a variety of specialized assembly operations and uses hand tools, power tools, torque wrench, and other special equipment to perform assembly operations.

Successful candidate will:

Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
Refers to technical drawings, engineering notices, etc. as needed.
Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Basic Requirements:

Ability to read, analyze,technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Able to Lift 50+ lbs

Preferred Qualifications:

Automotive component manufacturing background.

Diesel Technician

Diagnose/ Repair mechanical and electrical problems in diesel vehicles using diagnostic tools, equipment schematics and wiring diagrams
Analyze diesel engine performance and perform tune-ups as needed. Perform routine vehicle maintenance and preventive care.
Operate tools, equipment, and machinery in accordance with established safety guidelines. Ensure shop, equipment and tools are in safe operating condition.
Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable.
Maintain accurate and updated preventive maintenance records.Ensure all required reports are completed within established timelines.
Ensure shop, tools, supplies and all work areas are clean and orderly at all times.
Other duties as assigned.

Education Required: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Preferred 3 to 5 years of experience in shop setting with knowledge of diesel and fuel engines.
Salary: $18.00 to $24.00 /hour (DOE)
